The integrated recycling processes in waste management
A review covering selection criteria for the recycling technologies to be transferred to Poland, including plasma-driven thermochemical decomposition of dioxins, furans, polychlorinated biphenyls, polybrominated biphenylethers, -dibenzofurans, and -dibenzodioxins, and processes to destruct waste TNT, nitroglycerin, cyclonites, and pesticides, meeting the EU-96/91 Directives and the ISO 9000 and 14000 requirements. In Poland, dangerous waste materials are built up at 4-4.5 Gg/year, totaling 320-360 Gg. Consolidation processes were reviewed, involving cement and/or aluminosilicate, Ca and other aluminosilicates, or polymers as binding materials, with particular reference to the Hydromex (USA 2002). process (300-600 Mg waste/day, $10-120/Mg waste).
