The effect of phosphoric acid impurities on the content of Na5P3O10-I (Phase I) in sodium tripolyphosphate
An effect of Fe, Al or SO42- on temperature of pentasodium tripolyphosphate, (Na5P3O10), Phase-II to Phase-I transformation has been presented. The presence of Fe and/or Al lowers transformation temperature, while the presence of SO42- acts in the opposite direction. The presence of the investigated elements does not affect the phase composition of the samples ignited at temperatures higher than 500degreesC.
