Polyaniline, poly-o-toluidine, or poly-o-anisidine supported cobalt(11) and nickel(II) (acetate, chloride, nitrate or sulfate; or Schiff's base) complexes were prepared and used as heterogeneous catalysts to epoxidize trans-stilbene, 1-dodecene, 1-decene, 1-octene, and cyclooctene, with O-2 in acetonitrile as solvent at 20 and 60degreesC and with isobutyraldehyde as "oxygen transfer"agent. The catalysts can efficiently (up to 99%) epoxidize unsaturated compounds and oxidize alcohols and aromatic hydrocarbons.
