Low-temperature fuel cells as generators of chemical compounds. Synthesis of hydrogen peroxide and hydroxylamine
H2O2 and NH2OH were generated in the O-2-H-2 and NO-H-2 fuel cells, resp. Current efficiencies were 93% (in a two week-long cont. operation) and > 80% (related to NO flow rate), resp. The NH2OH and NH(3)products dissolved in 3.5 M H2SO4, the fuel cell electrolyte, to yield the corresponding sulfates.
