Progress in the methods of recovering thenium from copper metallurgy
Re recovery methods from by-products mainly from the gas phase after Cu matte was converted (50-60% H2SO4) and the Cu conc. flash smelted (similar to 10% H2SO4) are reviewed. The present best method includes: sepn. of Re from the acid used to wash the smelter gases by sorption on an ion-exchange resin, elution of Re from the sorbent with aq. NH4OH, and crystn. of NH4ReO4.
