The properties of epoxidized natural rubber containing a modified potato starch
Epoxidized natural rubber was filled with (a) dried, (b) frozen (I x at -190 degrees C) and dried, and (c) frozen (5 x) and dried potato starch, 5-30 phr. At 5-10 phr, neither vulcanization time nor torque was affected. At 25-30 phr of starch-b and esp. -c, tensile strength and elongation at break were reduced and the vulcametric module rose. Tensile properties remained unimproved, and mech. properties were close to those of starting elastomer mixts.
