Intensification of operation of chemical reactors by forcing a non-steady state
The feed compn. and inlet flow rates changed sinusoidally at the inlet to a cont. stirred-tank reactor in which order I or II, consecutive or parallel reactions are run, indicated that the forced non-steady state conditions could increase process efficiency. The greatest increase was achieved for the slowest reactions.
