Tests run for 36 months with 15 000 m(3)/hr of 50-500 mg styrene/m(3) off-gases passed through a pilot 0.147 m(3) compost bed, showed styrene to biodegrade at 24 g/m(3)/hr., i.e., 85% based on the original load.
