A new method for separation of ammonia from products of its low-pressure synthesis
Industrial processes for sepn. NH3 from its synthesis products were briefly reviewed. Deep cooling, adsorption on molecular sieves, membrane sepn., and absorption in nonvolatile solvents were taken into consideration., The absorption in NH3 soln. of NHNO3 (Divers liq.) was found energy-efficient and recommended for practical use. Balance calcn. was performed for NH3 synthesis under 6 MPa on a ferrous catalyst. The NH3 production costs could be cut by 13% after implementation of the new sepn. process.
