A review, with 62 refs., covering esterification and transesterification processes carried out over heterogeneous (both unmodified and modified) mesoporous catalysts. Mol. sieves, silicates and ion exchange resins were taken into consideration as catalyst for methanolysis, glycerolysis, and transesterification or esterification of glycerol.
