The effect of conditions of thermal activation of expanded graphite on the electrochemical activity towards the process of phenol oxidation
Expanded graphite (EG) was thermally activated in air at 200-700 degrees C for 2-4 h and its electrochem. properties were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The powder type electrode mad of the activated EG was used for electrochem oxidn. of PhOH in the potential range from the rest potential of electrode (E(R)) to 0.8 V with a scan rate of 0.1 mV/s. The highest electrochem. activity showed the graphite activated at 600 degrees C for 3 h.
