Optimum conditions of ammonium metavanadate precipitation from the post-filtration lye from the sodium nitrate-based production of soda ash
NH(4)VO(3) was pptd. from aq. solns. of NH(4)NO(3) in presence of NaCl by addn. of a soln. of NaVO(3) to study the processing of post-filtration lye from a com. process for manufg. of NH(4)NO(3) by the Na(2)CO(3)-Cl-NaNO(3) method. The optimum temp. of pptn. was 293-303 K, the time 4-5 h (yield of NH(4)VO(3) 85-86%). The produced NaNO(3) was only slightly polluted with vanadates (1-8% V(2)O(5)).
