Study on thermal recycling of ion-exchange resins by co-pyrolysis
Spent ion-exchange resins were mixed with a bituminous coal (up to 3% by mass) to prep. coal blends for coking. The coking tests were performed by box and chamber (outputs 150 kg and 20 Mg per tests, resp.). The coke produced showed an increased mech. strength, grindability and S content as well as a decreased reactivity against CO(2). No substantial differences in the coal tar compn. and gaseous emission (except for SO(2)) were obsd.
