Research on possibility of the direct use of Polish nitrogen-rich natural gases in prospective methane transformation processes
Eight dry or wet N(2)-rich natural gases from Polish Lowland were analyzed for chem. compn. (N(2) content 20-66% by vol.) and converted either by oxidative coupling of MeH to ethylene and EtH, oxidative crosscoupling with PhMe to PhEt or PhCH=CH(2), dehydrodearomatization to PhH, naphthalene and H(2) or by catalytic decompn. to H(2) and C. In the oxidative processes, no effects of N(2) on the MeH conversion and product yields ware obsd. In irreversible nanooxidative processes, the MeH conversion and product yield increased with increasing N(2) content in the feedstock. Process flowsheets were proposed.
