Separation of crystalline struvite from diluted solutions in a DTM crystallizer with liquid jet pump of descending suspension flow in a mixing chamber
Struvite was crystd. from dild. aq. soln. of NH(4)H(2)PO(4) and MgCl(2) (1:1 by mole) at pH 9-11 and 298 K in a draft-tube magma crystallizer to study the crystal nucleation and growth kinetics. A decrease in crystal growth rate was obsd. with increasing the pH and crystal residence time. The struvite crystal d. distribution function were detd.
