A method for assessment of flexibility of changing colors during extrusion of films and profiles was developed. The method was tested by extrusion of low-d. polyethylene dyed with 4 dyes (white, green, red and yellow) through 5 steel dies to self-cleaning ability of the tool. The polished 1.2316 steel and the high PNi/P-covered steel substrates met the quality requirements.
