Sorption of Pb2+ metal ions from aqueous solution onto walnut shells
Pb(II) ions were removed from aq. soln. (concn. 6-110 mg/L) by sorption on a natural walnut shell sorbent (pH 2-5) with an efficiency of 62,9-83,7%. The sorption was spontaneous and exothermic. The adsorption process was described by the Langmuir and Freundlich models. The max. adsorption capacity was 23,1 mg/g. The sorbent regeneration conditions were also detd.
