Three 3,3'-butan-1,4-diyl-bis(1-alkyl-1-H-imidazolium) dibromides (alkyl = n-dodecyl, n-decyl or n-hexyl) and n-dodecylmethylimidazolium bromide ionic liqs. were synthesized from resp. imidazol derivatives and alkyl bromides and studied for surface activity.
