Rheological studies of poly(vinyl chloride) plastisol dyed with inorganic pigments
Sixteen corm inorg. pigments (sp. surface 1.379-20.481 m(2)/g as detd. with methylene blue adsorption) were used (as received or after purifn. with BuOAC) for prepn. of PVC plastizols in Bu(2) phthalate (pigment contents 2-37,5%). The plastizols were studied for viscosity at 20 degrees C and shearing stress 10-150 mPa. The concn. relationships of viscosity, pseudo plasticity factor and viscous flow activation energy were presented as polynomial equations of 1(st) order. The proportionality constants in the equtions depended on the sp. surface of the pigments used.
