Benzalkonium nitrate and [Me(CH2)(9)](2)Me2N+ENO3- were added to aq. dispersions of acrylic polymer and copolymer, vinyl-maleate copolymer and poly(vinyl acetate) to study the phys.-mech. and phys.-chem. properties of the coats obtained. The addn. of ionic liqs. resulted in an improvement of the coat properties. The leaching of the coats with cold water resulted in partial removal of the ionic liqs. and a decrease in the coat hardness.
