Carboxylated butadiene/acrylonitrile rubber was filled with hydrotalcite and optionally with ZnO vulcanized at 160 degrees C for 40 min and studied for mech., surface and thermal properties. The addn. of hydrotalcite (up to 40 phr) resulted in a significant increase in the crosslink d. and tensile strength of the vulcanized composite materials.
