A preliminary study on antifungal effect of titanium dioxide
TiO(2) was used as antifugal agent for controlling Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium chrysogenum fungi isolated from cellar in a seventy-year-old building. The culture medium contained 5-20 g/L TiO(2). The incubation was carried out at 25 degrees C for 10 days in the dark and exposed to daylight. The addn. of TiO(2) resulted in a significant decrease in the colony growth rate (by 98.0% in case of Penicilllium). The lack of Ehrlich reaction after 10 mm was obsd.
