Studies on physicochemical properties and activity of some platinum catalysts in the photoreduction of CO2 with hydrogen
A series of Pt (1%) catalysts were prepd. by wet impregnation of TiO2 and TiO2/SiO2 (TiO2 content 3, 5 or 10%) supports. As a precursor of TiO2 and Pt were used Ti(O-isoPr)(4) and aq. H2PtCl6, respectively. The physicochem. properties of prepd. catalysts were examd. by X-ray diffraction, temp. programmed redn. and thermogravimetry-DTA-mass spectroscopy and thermal desorption methods. The catalysts were studied for photoredn. of CO2 with H-2 in photoreactor at 25-400 degrees C and showed better catalytic performance than TiO2 P-25 Degussa and TiO2/SiO2 systems. The 1%Pt/TiO2 catalyst was the most activated by UV and gave 30% CO2 conversion at lower temp.
