Studies of activated carbon-supported molybdenum-nickel catalysts for hydrodesulfurization
Nine Mo-Ni/C catalysts were prepd. by repeated impregnation of an activated C with aq. solns. of (NH(4))(6) Mo(7)O(24) and Ni(NO(3))(2) and calcination at 200 degrees C for 24 h, studied for dispersion of the active phase and used for hydrodesulfurization of tiophene at 260-400 degrees C and 1 atm. The catalyst activity increased with increasing the reaction temp. and metal content and decreased with increasing pH of activated C impregnation. The bimetallic Mo-Ni/C catalyst was more efficient than the com. one.
