Math. model, assuming the existence of the bio film and mass transfer between the liq. and bio film phases was developed and used to det. the stationary characteristics of the bioreactor. The bioreactor scale affected both the substrate conversion, biomass concn. in liq. phase and steady state multiplicity. Use of the model was exemplified by degrdn. of PhOH.
