Study on removal of mercury vapour from flue gases on a bed of AKP-5S active coke
Hg vapours were removed from a model gas (Hg concn. 50-800 ng/L in air) on a com. active coke bed (sorption capacity not less than 9.2 mg Hg/kg) under lab. conditions (120 degrees C, bed height 5-20 cm, contact time 0.6-2.45 s). Full removal of Hg was achieved after 1,28 s on 10 cm bed when the initial Hg concn. in the gas was below 50 ng/L and after 2.45 s on 20 cm bed when the Hg concn. was below 400 ng/L. The process studied was described by a polynonial equation.
