Analysis of the mixing effect on physicochemical properties of aqueous solutions of saponins from the multiple extraction of soap nuts
Sapindus mukorossi nut shells were extd. with distd. H(2)O at 20 degrees C for 4 h during 4 cycles to recover surface-active saponins. The surface tension of the ext. decreased while the viscosity increased with increasing content of the saponins (up to 1500 ppm).
