Computational fluid dynamics analysis of the pipe transport of solid particles in a laminar shear-thinned fluid
Laminar pipe transport of solid Na alginate particles in non-Newtonian CM cellulose soln. was simulated by using an Eulerian-Eulerian approach. The fluids were described by the power law model. A good agreement of the predictions of the continuous and dispersed phase velocity profiles and pressure drop detd. by computational fluid dynamics calcns. with the literature data was achieved.
