A study on explosion hazards connected with a spontaneous thermal decomposition of ammonium nitrate(V) emulsions. Part 1. Calorimetric study
The thermal stability aq. NH4NO3 emulsions in presence of acid-resistant steel, Ti or Al alloy, were studied by means of a reaction calorimeter (heat flow) under const. and changing temp. (303-533 K) after addn. of Cl ions. The temp. conditions for self-accelerating decomp. of NH4NO3 in the emulsions were established.
