Use of SEM-EDX method for investigation of sorption process of Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and ammonium ions on natural inorganic sorbents
Zn2+, Ni2+, Pb-2+,Pb- Cu2+ and NH4+ ions were removed from model nitrate solns. and from wastewater from municipal sewage treatment plants by adsorption and ion exchange methods. Palygorskite and bentonite were found efficient sorbents for the ions. The course of sorption was followed by SEM and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.
