Selectivity and stability of Pd-TelAl(2)O(3) catalysts in liquid-phase oxidation of glucose
Five bimetallic 5%Pd-X%Te/Al2O3 (X = 0.1-8% by mass Te) catalysts were prepd. and used for liq.-phase oxidn. of glucose at 60 degrees C. The catalysts contg. up to 5% of Te showed high stability and higher catalytic activity and selectivity to gluconic acid than the monometallic 5%Pd/Al2O3 catalyst. The presence of PdTe and PdTe2 intermetallic compds. in the catalysts studied was evidenced.
