Thiolato-bridged (Au2Cu2I)-Cu-I and Cu-4(I) Metallorings Derived from Benzothiazoline: Can Gold(I) Plus Copper(I) Make Silver(I)?
A thiolato-bridged (Au2Cu2I)-Cu-I metalloring compound, [Au2Cu2(L)(4)] (L = (C6H4NMe2)CH=N(C6H4)S-), together with an analogous Cu-4(I) compound, [Cu-4(L)(4)], was newly prepared from 2-(4-dimethylaminophenyl)benzothiazoline. The (Au2Cu2I)-Cu-I compound was found to show structural and spectroscopic features comparable well with those of [Ag-4(L)(4)], rather than those of [Au-4(L)(4)] and [Cu-4(L)(4)].
