Metallic nonwovens for removal of solid particulates from diesel combustion exhaust gas
Three FeCrAl nonwovens were used as construction material for diesel particulate filters studied for thermal and mech. resistance as well as for operational efficiency in a municipal bus in city traffic. Soot self-ignition in the filters at 700 degrees C and 900 degrees C did not result in substantial changes in the flue gas flow resistance up to 10 regenerations.
