Materials for manufacturing the radiation cross-linked insulations in electrical wires and cables
Three com polyethylenes were cured by electron irradn. (10 MeV, 10 kW) at 56-196 kGy and studied for tensile strength, elongation at break and oxidative induction time. The irradn. resulted in an improvement of mech. strength of the polymers and a decrease in the resistance to oxidn.
