Preparation of activated carbons from willow (Salix spp.). Part 3. Activation with sodium and potassium compounds
Activated C was prepd. by pyrolysis of willow (Salix spp.) wood at 500 degrees C after chem. activation with Na and K compds. (2 g/g, 800 degrees C). The adsorbent prepd. by activation with NaOH showed the highest pore vol. (0.9 cm(3)/g) and sp. surface (2000 m(2)/g) as detd. by sorption of PhH and CO2 at 25 degrees C. An increase in impregnation ratio (1-3 g/g) resulted in better development of micro porous structure. The activation temp. (700-800 degrees C) did not play any significant role.
