Carbon dioxide removal from aqueous amine solutions by desorption on hydropfobic membranes
Two corn. hydrophobic membranes were used for recovering CO2 from aq. solns. of NH2CH2CH2OH and N(CH2CH2OH)(2) (concn. 5-15%) at 50-65 degrees C and Reynolds no. up to 10000 for 6 mo. The CO2 mass fluxes and sepn. selectivities did not depend significantly on the amine concn. but the mass flux increased with increasing feedstock temp. The applicability of the studied membranes was evaluated.
