Study on extrusion of talc-filled polypropylene
Talcum-filled polypropylene was extruded by using a co-rotating twin-screw extruder under changing staggering angle between discs, distance between kneading discs, screw rotating speed, process output, and PP/talc filling ratio to det. their effect on screw torque, pressure and temp. of molten polymer in the extruder die head and the sp. energy consumption. The 2(v)(5-1) exp. design was used in the study. The process was described by polynomial equations.
