Glutaric acid was esterified with cyclohexanol to resp. mono- and diesters in lab. semibatch reactor under isothermal conditions to study the reaction kinetics. In the presence of H2SO4 catalyst both reaction were on first order with respect to the acid and the second reaction was first order with respect to monoester. Without any catalyst, the kinetics of the first reaction has changed to the second order with respect to acid while the kinetics of the second reaction remained unchanged.
