The formation of V2O5-K2SO4 with macroscopic shapes was successfully obtained by combining carbon nanofibers templates (CNFs) with wet impregnation methods. Furthermore, its application for the combustion of carbon black (CB), which is a model of particulate matter exhausted from diesel engines, was demonstrated. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
