Carbon Combustion over Synthetic Potassium Aluminosilicate with -LIT Structure
The catalytic activity of -LIT zeolite, which has a unique framework topology including hydrogen bonds between silanol and the terminal oxygen bonded to silicon ( Si-O-center dot center dot center dot H-O-Si ), was investigated through temperature-programmed oxidation. The activity of -LIT zeolite was found to be higher than those of other potassium-containing aluminosilicates, i.e., zeolite 3A, K-chabazite, K-L zeolite, and kalsilite. It is suggested that the unique framework topology of -LIT zeolite is responsible for its high catalytic activity.
