Efficient Photopolymerization of Diphenylamine Based on Ground-state Charge-transfer Complex
UV light irradiation of a mixture of diphenylamine (DPA) and carbon tetrabromide (CTB) induces rapid photopolymerization, affording pi-conjugated polymers composed of diphenylamine and carbazole units. LDI-TOF mass spectra of the product indicate that the longer polymer chains have higher conversion ratios to carbazole. Rapid photopattern formation with the conjugated polymer is also demonstrated.
