Enhanced visible light photocatalytic properties of AgNbO3/AgSbO3 composites
(AgNbO3)(1-x)(AgSbO3)(x) composites with the different molar ratios of AgSbO3 to AgNbO3 were prepared by a solid state reaction method. Composition dependence on the structure, optical properties and morphology was investigated by X-ray diffractometer, Raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. The Rhodamine B (RhB) decomposition under visible light irradiation was used to estimate the photocatalytic activity. The composites show the significant enhancement in photocatalytic property, and the photocatalytic activities of composites exhibit a strong dependency on the amount of AgSbO3. The highest photocatalytic activity is observed on the composite (AgNbO3)(0.2)(AgSbO3)(0.8), which is eighty- and ten-folds higher than that of AgNbO3 and AgSbO3, respectively. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V.
