Microstructure and formation mechanism of CdS/Titanate rose-like nanostructures
The controllable synthesis of 3D nanostructures is highly desirable in advanced materials. In this work, a facile one-step hydrothermal synthesis of rose-like CdS/Titanate nanostructures was developed for the first time. The structural and morphological characterization of the nanoroses was studied in detail by XRD and SEM. Different experiment conditions were adopted to investigate their effects on the morphology of CdS/Titanate. The results revealed that the appropriate rate of chemical reaction and enough amount of P25 were compulsory for the formation of CdS/Titanate rose-like nanostructure. The composite system exhibits a broad absorption band from 300 nm to 800 nm, which is over the whole visible region. The formation mechanism was further provided. (C) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
