Effect of moist environment on the diametric tensile of polymer-based dental materials
Dental materials were placed in water at 37 degrees C for 24 h and for 1 mo. to study the changes in mech. strength of the test pieces. An increase in the diam. tensile strength of the polymer-matrix composites (by 18-25%) and a decrease in the strength of glass ionomer cements (by 21-25%) were obsd. after 1 mo. of exposition.
