The speed of sound u, density rho, and viscosity eta of nine binary mixtures of ethanenitrile, propanenitrile, and adiponitrile with dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, and dimethyl sulfoxide have been measured at 303.15 K. The isentropic compressibility K-S, excess volume V-E, and excess isentropic compressibility K-S(E) have been calculated from the results. The values of V-E and K-S(E) are examined as a function of composition, size, and polarity of the participating molecules.
