Ultrasonic Velocity, Density, and Adiabatic Compressibility for 2,6-Dimethylpyridine Plus Water in the Temperature-Range 293-318 K
Ultrasonic velocities and densities for 2,6-dimethylpyridine (1) + water (2) were measured over the entire composition range in the temperature interval 293-318 K. Using the Laplace formula, the adiabatic compressibility was calculated. The results and the empirical smoothing polynomials are presented. The density decreases monotonically with an increase of the amine concentration, while the velocity and compressibility isotherms show two points of interest : a nearly common crossing point at a mole fraction x(1) approximate to 0.03 and extrema at x(1) approximate to 0.15.
