Liquid-liquid equilibria for water + benzonitrile + 2-propanol and water + benzonitrile + l-butanol have been studied in the temperature range 25 degrees C-45 degrees C with analysis by gas chromatography. Phase diagrams, including tie lines and, for the system involving 2-propanol, plait points are reported at each temperature. Distribution curves and enthalpy of transfer values of the alcohol from water to the nitrile are given and compared with values obtained for the lower alcohols.
