Experimental investigations on local heat-transfer in a circulating fluidised bed
Experiments were conducted in a CFB unit to study the heat-transfer characteristics in the riser column. The main aim of the investigation was to assess variations of local heat-transfer of test surfaces at the bottom and top regions in the riser column, including the effects of various operating parameters. The nature of the variations was observed to differ in these regions, which suggests that bed hydrodynamic conditions were different in the two regions. In fact the hydrodynamics of the CFB riser are complex, and they have a significant influence on heat-transfer phenomena. The resultant data were found to be in good agreement with those of published works.
