A novel absorption refrigeration cycle using centrifugal reverse osmosis
A novel absorption refrigeration cycle using centrifugal reverse osmosis is described. A semi-permeable membrane is employed in the centrifuge and the osmotic pressure of the solution is produced by centrifugation. The cycle is a potential alternative to conventional vapour compression cycles. The COP of the cycle and the rotation speed required have been studied and a calculation example using LiBr/H2O is given. A relationship between the rotation speed and the specific latent heat of evaporation has also been deduced.
