A sublimation study of lindane
The vapor pressure of lindane was measured by torsion and Knudsen-effusion methods over the temperature range 310 K to 384 K. The following temperature-pressure equation was obtained : log(p/kPa) = 11.23 +/- 0.50 -(4832 +/- 150)(K/T). From the vapor pressure data, the second-law sublimation enthalpy of this compound, Delta(sub)H degrees(298 K) = (92 +/-4) kJ.mol(-1), was derived. The results were compared with literature values.
